All holidays end and so has this one. I am feeling quite chirpy and not too stressed by the thought of the year ahead. However, I know it will be an important year for me, teaching, clients and the PhD and project. If all goes well and I work as hard as I have done the last year I will have written quite a substantial part of the PhD and developed a much more rounded teachign portfolio by next year this time. And who knows where the project will be by then.
For now things are quiet on the internet frontier. Our numbers are holding on above 1000 per day, but our sales are again non existent. But then Rod hasn’t had time yet to change the ad, so we’ll see what happens then. I have replied to one email today, so the queries are still coming. I have also drawn up my PhD road map on holiday and will talk to Clare next week about how realistic it sounds. I am feeling more settled with the writing process ahead so the holiday has been really good.
The way Rod is approaching working on the web is making more and more sense to me. He is generally speaking not looking at the figures, I think and keeps doing what he is doing. I would think that helps to cushion the web master against the inevitable boom and bust cycles you get. It makes sense to just keep working away at things rather than get all excited or disappointed. Neither feeling is that good for the steady work that is needed to develop such a large project. Will hopefully allow myself to stand back from it a bit more and see how things develop over time.
